The girls’ basketball team once again came out of the gates with a flurry Tuesday night, easily pounding past Mt. Paran for 69-35 in the Elite 8 at home. With the victory, Coach Nichole Dixon & Company will be in action again Saturday vs. Calvary Day at North Georgia University - time to be announced.
The Bears opened up a 24-7 lead after the first eight minutes, led mostly by the hot shooting of Jada Farrell, who hit two 3’s and had eight points in the quarter. Farrell ended the night leading all scorers with 22, 12 of them on 3-pointers. Marya Hudgins (13 points), scored seven in the first period, as did Jillian Hollingshead, who ended with 11. The Bears opened up a 38-19 lead at intermission and 58-28 going into the final period. Besides Farrell, Hudgins, and Hollingshead’s scoring production, another major stat came from sophomore guard Cierra Foster, who passed off for 12 assists. (24-6) Comments are closed.
